Phone Numbers
Get phone numbers for your AI agent and manage how calls are routed.
What is the Phone Numbers Page?
This is where you purchase and manage the phone numbers that people call to reach your AI agent. Each number connects to BLEUM through Twilio and routes incoming calls to your published procedures. You can also create Line Groups to organize multiple numbers into named lines and control which procedures each line has access to.
Getting Your First Number
Open the purchase panel from the Phone Numbers page.
Enter the area code you want (e.g., 212 for New York, 415 for San Francisco). Choose a number that matches your business location or target market.
Click to purchase the number. BLEUM automatically configures the webhook so calls route to your AI agent.
Line Groups
Line Groups let you organize your phone numbers into named lines — for example "Sales", "Support", or "After Hours". Once you create groups, each procedure in your Flow Builder must be assigned to one or more groups, so the AI only offers relevant procedures to callers on that line.
Scroll to the Line Groups section on the Phone Numbers page. Type a name (e.g. "Sales") and click + Add Group.
Check the phone numbers that belong to this group, then click Save. A number can belong to multiple groups.
Open any procedure in the Flow Builder. The Available on row in the header shows your groups as checkboxes. Select which groups this procedure should appear for.
In the Flow Builder list, published procedures are grouped by line. In the Call Journey rail, use the tab strip to preview each group's call experience and see which phone number callers will reach.
Number Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | Configured and receiving calls. Webhooks are properly set. |
| Inactive | Number exists but webhooks may need configuration. Click "Auto-Configure" to fix. |
Common Questions
Phone number pricing is handled through Twilio. Standard US numbers are typically around $1.15/month. Call charges apply separately based on usage.
Number porting is handled through Twilio. Contact BLEUM support and we'll walk you through the process.
First, check that the number shows as "Active." If it's inactive, click "Auto-Configure" to reset the webhooks. Also verify that your server is running and accessible. Try calling the number yourself as a test.
Procedures assigned exclusively to that group become unassigned. They'll still exist but callers won't be routed to them until you assign them to another group.
Yes — check multiple groups in the "Available on" section when editing a procedure. It will appear under all selected groups in the Flow Builder list, and be available to callers on any of those lines.
